Illustration

Most of my illustrations are mixed media, primarily using water colors,  alcohol markers, and colored pencils.

Well, actually, most of my "illustrations" are doodles with dull pencils or ball-point pens on arbitrary paper scraps, like this scan-in of a little bunny, but regarding the ones below, see above.

Will and the Little Man Wee

This is a picture from a children's Book with the above title, which I illustrated for my dear friend and author, Sam Frykenberg. Check it out here!

Glowing Garden

(9"X9")

Mostly colored pencils, and a gold ink pen which really went a long way on the little fairy lady's dress.

Tam Lin

(12"X 24")

Inspired by the Fairport Convention song by the same name, which is a retelling of an old Irish Folk Ballad by the same name.
Incredibly ambitiously as I would later realize, I decided to learn how to silk screen for this project and now have a pattern transfer template of this design.

Let me know if you want it on a shirt/etc. !

Village in the Trees

(9"X12")

Water color and ink markers

I wish I could live in a little mushroom house!

Rainbow River

(10"X11")

Inspired by the Vashti Bunyan song of the same name.

"The rainbow river is a laughing stream
Down in a valley by a mountain that is pine tree tall
The rainbow river has a small boy fishing with a worm
And a jam jar by the waterfall
Don't make a sound don't disturb the ground
The biggest fish you ever saw is around
And the rainbow river gives a rainbow fish
As one small boy goes running proudly to his mother's call"

Flash Photography

(10"X12")

One of the very first fully detailed and "larger" scale pieces I drew and water colored. Definitely a lot to improve on but I still really like the these little bugs and the abandoned cup.

The City Frog

and

the Country Frog

(4"X6")

Which one is which?

Magic, Madness, and Sadness

(10"X12")

Mostly alcohol marker, some water colors, and holographic paper.
I drew this during a period in which I was feeling very sad and lost, and it's kind of corny but the map with the giant hole in the middle of it felt like a parallel for my state of being and what I needed to do to move forward.

Cyclone Bob's Disco

(10"X12")

Mostly water colors, some alcohol marker.

Is the frog really big, or is the house really small?

The Seven Lucky Gods of Japan

 (LongX 6")

Mostly alcohol marker.

The King Who Stole the Stars

(10"X12")

Mostly alcohol marker, some water colors.

Wizard Brain, or Lizard Brain

(4"X6")

Mostly alcohol markers.

A 26th Birthday card for a friend, the concept of this binary set of mental capacities I just ended up really liking philosophically.

Octopus's Garden

(Digital!)

Inspired by the Beatles song of the same name. The only fully digital drawing I've yet completed. I didn't care for it, I was too removed from the art, in my personal opinion, and I lost large chunks of my progress because my application crashed TWICE.

Patience Grows

(11"X13")

Mostly colored pencil and alcohol marker, some water colors.
